Borgers is a long established supplier of technical textiles to the automotive industry and one of the oldest companies to use recycled materials. It specialises in functional nonwoven fabrics and engineered composites made from natural fibres and recycled materials, and has facilities throughout Europe and the USA. Its factories supply materials for use by most of the leading automotive brands, including Audi, BMW, DAF, Daimler, Ford, General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Opel, Porsche, Renault, Seat, Skoda, Toyota, Volkswagen (VW) and Volvo. In 2009 Borgers's turnover fell as a result of the recession in Europe and the USA, but the company appears to have weathered the storm and made a full recovery in 2010 with record sales. Despite continuing economic uncertainty in the automotive industry, production and sales are expected to be maintained and this should bode well for the company during 2012. This report provides details of the company's products, operations, key customers and recent business, financial performance and an outlook for the future.
