"Being a successful manufacturer is not an easy task today. Although solid business strategies and clear targets are in place, manufacturers must be ready to make rapid corrections to their tactics, following fast-changing demand, shorter product life cycles, and opportunities to exploit new or emerging markets; and ICT can assist. ICT vendors that can address these issues are likely to be successful in selling to the manufacturing sector," says Melissa Martin, senior market analyst, IT Spending and Vertical Markets, IDC Australia.
