On November 14, 2009, CMO and Innolux held respective board meetings, during which the boards of both companies approved the merger between CMO and Innolux via a share swap. The newly merged company is expected to become the largest panel company in Taiwan, and the third largest worldwide behind Samsung and LGD. The merger is not only expected to have a positive impact on the system assembly business of Innolux, but also inject new vitality in the Taiwanese display industry.
