Abstract

Inventory levels of cell panels and LCD driver ICs, which were built up during the first half of 2008, returned to normal and the industry saw a sequential growth in the third quarter of 2008. However, the growth momentum slowed in the fourth quarter of 2008 due to weakened demand during China' s long holiday in October. In 2009, the global economic uncertainty is expected to cloud the mobile phone demand in emerging markets, affecting demand for mobile phone key components. This research provides analysis of Chinese small size TFT-LCD module market demand by observing cell panel and LCD module driver IC supply.
