Abstract

This IDC study provides IDC' s top 10 predictions for the EMEA server market.

"The dynamics in the 2010 server market will reveal many interesting turns as a result of a combination of factors on the maturity of technologies (i.e., multicore and virtualization on x86 and the use of clouds) which will be strengthened to an increasingly complex competitive landscape, and will shaped by partnerships and acquisitions," said Beatriz Valle, research analyst, EMEA System Infrastructure Solutions. "Additionally, the overall economic environment is expected to pick up after a prolonged recession, leading to an upsurge in demand in the area of enterprise IT. The challenges in measuring the pace of the recovery and the areas in the server market where it is likely to take effect make predictions difficult, and 2010 will prove to be an exciting year," Valle added.
