Home furniture consumption in the Netherlands recorded a total value of Euro 4 billion at retail prices.
In the Netherlands the majority of home furniture sales are made through the specialist channel: the country is among the five European countries where specialist retailers have the largest market share. A typical distribution format is the boulevard, so called Woonboulevards when dealing with furnishings products. Among the most widespread franchises in Woonboulevards there are Bo Concept, Profijt and Piet Klerkx. Woonboulevards also include franchised sales outlets belonging to foreign groups or those that specialise in the sale of imported furniture, as Ligne Roset and Asian Living.
